ABOUT PROPFIRMADVISOR

Built from the questions I had as a prop firm trader

PropFirmAdvisor was created to help traders make clearer prop firm decisions using practical explanations, transparent methodology and information that can be checked. The goal is simple: make important differences easier to understand before a trader pays for an account.

5+ years trading and prop firm experience

I have been trading for five years and have used prop firms throughout that period. I have bought accounts, worked through evaluations, passed accounts and received payouts. That experience shaped the questions I wanted PFA to answer clearly: What can breach the account? What does the account really cost? When can you request a payout? What changes after you pass? And what should make a trader cautious?

PropFirmAdvisor grew from repeatedly seeing how difficult those questions could be to answer quickly. A headline price or payout claim rarely tells the whole story. The rules, account type, platform, payout conditions and the firm’s track record all matter, and they matter differently depending on the trader.

My role is to bring that trader perspective into PFA without pretending my experience is universal. A payout I received proves that I received that payout. It does not prove that every trader will have the same outcome. A complaint deserves attention, but it also deserves context. PFA is built around making those distinctions visible.

EDITORIAL TEAM

PropFirmAdvisor Editorial Team

Research, verification, editing and data quality

The PropFirmAdvisor Editorial Team supports the research, verification, editing and maintenance of PFA guides, reviews, rankings and research pages.

Our job is to check material claims, keep important distinctions clear, separate reported experiences from confirmed facts, and update published information when reliable new information changes the answer. The standards we follow are explained publicly in our Editorial Policy, Review Methodology and Evidence Standards.

WHY PFA EXISTS

The aim is not to tell traders what to buy. It is to make the trade-offs visible.

Prop firms can look similar until you compare the exact account rules, fees, payout conditions and restrictions that affect how a trader will actually use the account. PFA is designed to make those trade-offs easier to see.

Learn explains the concepts. Calculators help traders test the numbers. Reviews examine firms and account options. Intelligence highlights important evidence and changes. Research looks at wider patterns. Each section has a different job, but they are designed to help a trader move from understanding to a more informed decision.

HOW WE WORK

Principles that shape PFA coverage

Account scope matters

A rule or feature can differ by account, market or location. We try to keep those differences clear instead of turning an exception into a universal statement.

Claims should be checkable

Important factual claims should have a reliable basis, and readers should be able to understand how confident PFA is in the information presented.

Negative evidence counts

Credible complaints, payout problems and unresolved patterns matter. Positive experiences do not automatically cancel meaningful negative evidence.

Commercial relationships stay separate

Affiliate links, advertising and partnerships do not buy ranking points, corrections or favorable editorial conclusions.

PUBLISHING PROCESS

How we approach a PFA page

1

Start with the reader’s question

Define what the page needs to help a trader understand or decide.

2

Check the important facts

Verify material claims and make the scope clear when a rule or condition applies only in certain situations.

3

Explain what matters

Write in plain language, distinguish fact from analysis and show the trade-offs a trader should notice.

4

Review and update

Correct important errors and revisit published information when a meaningful change affects the answer.
